This comprehensive series of group courses is designed for young artists who have the passion and discipline to get into their top Animation programs at a variety of Colleges and Universities including Sheridan, Seneca, CalArts, The Animation Workshop, Gobelins, SVA, RISD, and more! The Animation Tutor studied at Sheridan College, and is an expert in assessing this portfolio in particular. We have taught this program for over 10 years, and make small revisions to this Bundle each year. Coming in 2024, there are a variety of ways to take this program depending on the amount of input you wish to have. Please read carefully below.

  • 6 courses (this will effectively replace an entire semester at a general arts program in College, University, or even an advanced high school art program, spanning from October 2024 to March 2024 when the Sheridan portfolio is due)

  • Up to 15-minutes of artwork reviewed by video recording for each week of each course. (3 courses taken in two blocks means that you will receive 45 minutes of artwork reviewed each week).

  • Three textbooks are: Art Fundamentals by 3D Total, Atlas of Human Anatomy by Stephen Rogers Peck, and The Animator’s Survival Kit by Richard Williams.

Option 2 - Discounted to $3100 CAD from $3420 CAD

  • Up to 15-minutes of artwork reviewed by video recording for each week of each course. (3 courses taken in two blocks means that you will receive 45 minutes of artwork reviewed each week).

  • Three textbooks are: Art Fundamentals by 3D Total, Class Human Anatomy by Valerie L. Winslow (more thorough, current Sheridan textbook for Life Drawing), and The Animator’s Survival Kit by Richard Williams.

  • 6 x 1-hour individual reviews to be scheduled whenever you’d like additional support throughout the duration of the six-month program. At these reviews, you can submit any artwork to be reviewed, not just artwork completed from within the course requirements. They are recorded and sent to the students individually immediately after the sessions.

Option 3 - Discounted to $4300 CAD from $4740 CAD

  • Up to 15-minutes of artwork reviewed by video recording for each week of each course. (3 courses taken in two blocks means that you will receive 45 minutes of artwork reviewed each week).

  • Three textbooks are: Art Fundamentals by 3D Total, Class Human Anatomy by Valerie L. Winslow (more thorough, current Sheridan textbook for Life Drawing), and The Animator’s Survival Kit by Richard Williams.

  • 12 x 1-hour individual reviews to be scheduled whenever you’d like additional support throughout the duration of the six-month program. At these reviews, you can submit any artwork to be reviewed, not just artwork completed from within the course requirements. They are recorded and sent to the students individually immediately after the sessions.

  • Access to Upgraded Resources, including an inexhaustible amount of Life Drawing reference images.

  • An additional lecture towards the beginning of the Bundle detailing key features of a Successful Animation Portfolio based on our vast experience.

  • Written recommendations for next steps and exercises to continue improving skills at the end of each course.

  • 3 Past successful students’ video reviews of your entire portfolio towards the end of the program in February (incredibly valuable to have more studied opinions on your portfolio!)

  • Young artists who have the passion and discipline to get into an Animation program

  • When you sign up for a Group Course you will participate in a scheduled class where video lectures, assigned homework, and direct feedback from The Animation Tutor are provided.

    Each week, The Animation Tutor will review and provide feedback collectively, and you will have the opportunity to ask questions.

    Each student will receive a personalized group feedback video with 15 minutes of feedback each (totalling 2 hours of feedback throughout the course), along with corrected artwork files.

    Your work will be evaluated in comparison to the rest of the group. Additionally, there will be designated office hours where you can have discussions with The Animation Tutor at specific milestones throughout the course.

  • All Animation Tutor Courses Require:

    • Zoom account for the online feedback sessions

    • Access to Google Drive to submit homework and to receive feedback files

    • Reliable internet speed, ideally offering at least 30 Mbps for both downloads and upload, ensures a smooth online experience

    • Drawing materials of your choice, life drawing is always best done traditionally

    • Access to a library or bookstore

    • Ability to seek out artists that inspire you

    • Willingness to learn and grow as an artist!
